The image of Geng Xu
Geng (庚) is Yang Metal: ore, iron, the axe before it is sharpened. Xu (戌), the Dog, is dry earth from late autumn, October into early November. Tradition calls Xu the storehouse of Fire, and its hidden stems (藏干, cang gan) are Wu (戊) Earth, Xin (辛) Metal and Ding (丁) Fire.
