JadeBazi is made in Chongqing, China, where BaZi is part of everyday culture — families talk about a baby's elements, pick wedding dates and look ahead at the new year with it — and we wanted English speakers to have a version that is both accurate and easy to read.
How the calculator works
Charts follow the classical Zi Ping method. The year begins at Li Chun, months follow the 24 solar terms, the day changes at the Zi hour (11 pm), and your birth time is converted from your birthplace's time zone with daylight saving time removed. The calendar calculations use the open-source lunar library, checked against edge cases such as births on the day of a solar term.
How readings are written
Your personal reading is written by AI. It is given only your calculated chart — pillars, ten gods, element balance, luck cycle and the current years — and is instructed to explain what it sees in plain language, grounded in those characters. We check sample readings for accuracy and tone.
Our view of BaZi
We treat BaZi as a mirror, not a verdict: a centuries-old vocabulary for temperament, timing and balance that can prompt useful reflection. It does not decide your life, and it is not a substitute for professional advice.
